Communication and Coordination

Unfortunately, the Rift Valley Fever outbreak in your country is not getting any better. The weather is not cooperating, and flooding has displaced many communities. Many more are facing the threat of their homes and villages washing away.

 The Evacuation Center you organized under the ICS structure in our last module has reached capacity – more than 10,000 people have arrived seeking help. Some have arrived with cattle and farm animals. Some of the evacuees are from Neighborville.

The good news is that you and Neighborville are receiving additional support from regional and international people and agencies.

 As part of the ICS Planning functional area, you have been provided with a template listing the participating entities from your country and the government of Neighborville.

 You have the template, and you have been asked to take a One Health approach in your activities. You have these tasks:

 ·      Choose four partners from the list (one from each group)

·      Complete the template on behalf of the partners you have selected;

·      Assign each of your partners a role and responsibility; and

·      Write a memo for the Documentation Unit describing how your four partners will work together.

Apply this structure:

o   Priorities;

o   Problems;

o   Objectives;

o   Strategies; and

o   Tactics.
