Learning Activity 3: Define your Audience.

Imagine the people of your country and Neighborville, managing the situation described in the case study. As you're in charge of risk communications, it's a good time to map your audiences.

Which audience do you need to reach? High-risk groups? Vulnerable populations? First responders? All of the above. But, as you know, each audience requires its own approach. Risk communication is not a one-size-fits-all activity. There are many audiences in your country and Neighborville who need accurate messages from you.

Choose one target audience. Create an imaginary person who represents someone in your target audience, using the tools on this website:

www.userforge.com

 Include information about your person's:

  • Needs
  • Current behaviors
  • Frustrations
  • Cultural and social norms

And any other details you think we should know.

Post the profile of your new person, and Introduce him or her to the rest of our group.

Please use this naming convention on all of your assignments:

LastNameFirstInitial_LA#

For example, when Patrick Mboma turns in this Learning Activity, it will be named:

MbomaP_LA3

(LA = Learning Activity)

As always, feel free to post questions and comments in the Learning Activity Discussion Forum.
